ADNOC Logistics & Services, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, has announced a major fleet expansion with the order of four next-generation LNG carriers valued at approximately USD 900 million (AED 3.3 billion).

The vessels, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, will be built at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China, and are scheduled for delivery in 2029. The agreement was signed during a visit by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Group CEO, underscoring the company's commitment to strengthening global energy transport capabilities.

Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S, emphasized the strategic importance of the investment: "As global demand for natural gas continues to rise, this latest order reflects our confidence in the strong fundamentals of the LNG shipping market. We are investing in a next-generation fleet to efficiently connect key supply sources with high-growth demand centers and support the global energy transformation."

This latest order brings ADNOC L&S' LNG newbuild program to 18 vessels, making it one of the most advanced and efficient LNG fleets worldwide. The company has already taken delivery of six LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard, valued at USD 1.2 billion, with five deployed on long-term contracts of up to 15 years with ADNOC Gas. The new carriers are also expected to be placed on long-term charters, ensuring stable revenues and reliable energy flows to global markets.

The announcement coincided with the delivery of "Meera", the first of four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs), ordered through AW Shipping, a joint venture between ADNOC L&S and Wanhua Chemical Group. With a capacity of 93,000 cubic meters, Meera ranks among the world's largest ammonia carriers.

Since 2022, ADNOC L&S has committed over USD 5 billion across 32 vessels, with nine already delivered and 23 scheduled for delivery through 2029. The company's investments are designed to meet long-term customer demand, provide earnings visibility, and support ADNOC's broader LNG growth strategy, which targets 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG by 2035.

ADNOC L&S, serving more than 100 customers in over 50 countries, continues to expand its integrated maritime logistics operations. With subsidiaries such as Zakher Marine International Holdings and Navig8, the company is reinforcing its role as a global leader in energy transport, sustainability, and innovation.
