Kuwait Airways signed Sunday a KD 5.8 million ($18.8 million) contract with Automated Systems Company to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system over a three-year period, as part of the national carrier's ongoing digital transformation and modernization efforts. Kuwait Airways Chairman of the Board of Directors Abdulmohsen Al-Fuqaan told KUNA that the agreement forms part of the airline's efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and modernize its administrative, financial and operational systems in line with the demands of modern corporate management.
He described the contract as an important strategic step in the company's digital transformation journey, noting that the ERP system will unify and modernize existing systems through an integrated platform, improving operational efficiency and strengthening coordination among various sectors.
The project is also expected to improve the accuracy and speed of data and reporting, strengthen internal controls and provide comprehensive, reliable information to support decision-making, Al-Fuqaan said. He highlighted the significance of the project given Kuwait Airways' role as the national carrier, operating around the clock within an integrated and complex operational environment that requires high levels of coordination and efficiency in resource management.
Integrated resource management
The new system will help enhance the management of resources, costs, procurement, inventory and human resources, while improving planning processes and optimizing the use of available resources. These improvements will contribute to faster completion of tasks, higher productivity and greater operational efficiency, Al-Fuqaan said.
He stressed that investment in modern digital systems and solutions represents a key pillar in the development of Kuwait Airways' operational framework. The ERP project will provide an integrated technological foundation for unifying procedures and data, strengthening coordination among departments and supporting both strategic and operational planning, he added.
Al-Fuqaan said these improvements are expected to have a positive impact on the airline's overall performance and the quality of services provided to customers. He affirmed that Kuwait Airways is continuing to implement its development and digital transformation projects to strengthen its ability to respond to rapid changes in the aviation sector and manage its operations and resources more efficiently. The initiatives are aligned with the company's ambitions to achieve higher standards of operational excellence, efficiency and long-term sustainability, he added.
