The Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar reviewed aspects of joint cooperation and investment opportunities between the two sides during a meeting held on Thursday in Muscat between Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority, and Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar, in the presence of Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and a number of officials from both sides.
During the meeting, available opportunities to expand areas of joint cooperation and investment across a number of priority economic sectors were reviewed, alongside discussing ways to build strategic partnerships between Oman Investment Authority and its companies, and Qatari institutions and companies, contributing to achieving mutual interests and supporting economic diversification targets in the two countries.
The two sides addressed the investment potential enjoyed by the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar, as well as opportunities that can be developed across various priority sectors for the two countries, particularly the logistics sector and land and maritime transport, alongside exchanging expertise and experiences and enhancing communication between companies affiliated with both sides to identify feasible projects and establish sustainable investment partnerships.
Both sides affirmed the importance of continued coordination and joint action to explore further investment opportunities and benefit from the competitive assets and accumulated expertise of institutions and companies in both countries, thereby enhancing Omani-Qatari economic and investment relations and opening broader horizons for growth.
