talabat, the leading everyday app in Middle East & North Africa (MENA), in partnership with the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise Development, has launched "talabat grow" in Kuwait, one of its most ambitious mentorship and capability-building initiatives, designed to support the sustainable growth of SME restaurants. Building on 22 years of local market experience and close engagement with Kuwait's F&B sector, the program responds to a clear need for practical guidance beyond funding, helping restaurant owners strengthen key areas such as restaurant management, menu development, kitchen efficiency, and the fundamentals required to build more resilient and scalable businesses.
The initiative was officially announced in Kuwait during a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at Four Seasons Hotel, in the presence of Abdullah Al-Mansour, Director of Corporate Affairs at talabat Kuwait, and Eng Basma Al-Jasem, Acting Director General at the National Fund, in addition to several participating restaurant owners.
Designed as a structured six-month growth program, talabat grow aims to support high-potential, locally owned SME restaurants in Kuwait by strengthening their operational and commercial capabilities and accelerating sustainable growth across the food and hospitality sector. The program begins with a six-week intensive bootcamp, followed by tailored support phases, and targets restaurant businesses facing challenges in their growth and operations. The participant selection mechanism was jointly developed by talabat and the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise Development to help identify restaurants that can benefit most from the program's mentorship and capability-building support.
Through the initiative, talabat aims to onboard more than 1,000 restaurants in Kuwait, offering reduced commission rates, commercial support, and dedicated one-to-one guidance from talabat's Partner Success teams, alongside practical training in operational excellence, performance optimization, data-driven decision-making, and the effective use of digital tools through various channels, including webinars delivered by talabat and its partners.
"At talabat, we believe that sharing knowledge, experience, and practical guidance is essential to building stronger businesses and a more resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem," said Abdullah Al-Mansour, Director of Corporate Affairs at talabat Kuwait. "We are proud to launch talabat grow in Kuwait as a new step in our commitment to supporting restaurant owners and contributing to the sustainable growth of Kuwait's local business sector. As the country's food and beverage sector continues to grow, we are leveraging our expertise, platform capabilities, and partner network to help ambitious entrepreneurs strengthen their operations, unlock new opportunities and succeed in a rapidly evolving market."
On her part, Eng Basma Al-Jasem said: "Supporting small and medium enterprises remains a key pillar of Kuwait's economic development. Our partnership with talabat reflects the importance of effective public-private collaboration in equipping emerging restaurant businesses with the tools and opportunities they need to grow sustainably and contribute meaningfully to the local economy."
The initiative reflects talabat's broader commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and supporting Kuwait's long-term economic development in line with Kuwait Vision 2035. Through a practical model of public-private collaboration, talabat grow aims to strengthen local business capabilities, help restaurant owners overcome operational challenges, and equip them with the tools and knowledge needed to grow sustainably. In doing so, talabat reinforces its role as a long-term partner to Kuwait's SME ecosystem, supporting businesses with capability-led guidance that can create lasting impact beyond the program itself.
