Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Middle East and Africa. Established in 1980 under the guidance of Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the late ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Julphar has grown to become a key player in the global pharmaceutical industry. Julphar's mission is to provide high-quality, innovative, and affordable healthcare solutions. The company produces a wide range of medicines, vaccines, and consumer healthcare products targeting major therapeutic segments such as diabetes, gastrointestinal tract (GIT), respiratory, pain management, wounds and scars, anti-infectives, anemia, gynecology, dermatology, erectile dysfunction, and cardiology. The company operates 12 internationally accredited manufacturing facilities capable of producing up to one million boxes of medicine per day. In 2012, Julphar became one of the world's largest producers of insulin, thanks to its state-of-the-art biotechnology facility in the UAE. Julphar employs around 3,400 people and distributes its products to more than 30 countries across five continents. The company is also listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) since 2005.
