National Medical Care Company, known by its brand name 'Care', is a medical company involved in the ownership and operation of general hospitals. Care also handles distribution of various pharmaceutical products. It is a closed joint stock company, established by the efforts of General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), a government agency working for social insurance of Saudi society. Care was formed in 2003 and mainly operates two leading hospitals in Riyadh. The first hospital is Riyadh National Hospital that was opened in 1966 as the first private hospital in the capital, with a 100 beds capacity. Once taken over by Care, the capacity of this health facility was enlarged to 300 beds. The second hospital is Riyadh Care Hospital that has a 320-bed capacity and was established in 1990. Both hospitals working under Care offer medical services, in line with the best medical practices, supervised and recommended by the Joint Commission International (JCI) and Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI). Operational excellence of employees is ensured through regular oversight of supply chain management, revenue cycle and HR. Care has created a near impossible balance between corporate and healthcare challenges. The company is focused on organic growth as well as new investments. Specialized service lines have been opened with the help of new centers of excellence, and innovative medical services are being introduced in order to improve the overall goodwill of the company. In 2024, National Medical Care Co. announced the acquisition of Al Salam Health Medical Hospital for a value of SR 44,000,000. The company has been actively shaping its strategy to provide distinctive care and improve community well-being.
