Jazan Development and Investment Co., also known as JAZADCO, is a Saudi Joint Stock Company that was established by Decree No. 223 from the Minister of Commerce on July 2, 1414 H (which corresponds to July 26, 1993 AD). The company's current capital stands at 500,000,000 Saudi riyals, divided into fifty million shares, each with a par value of ten riyals.
JAZADCO engages in diverse activities across several vital sectors, making it a multifaceted player in the Saudi business landscape.
JAZADCO's areas of activity are: aquaculture, agriculture, manufacturing industry, real estate, water production, and hospitality. JAZADCO places emphasis on the development of the Jazan region. Through strategic investments and development projects, it contributes to the economic growth and prosperity of this area. Notably, the company processes fish and shrimp using catches from the Red Sea, further integrating its activities with the local environment.
JAZADCO has been actively involved in agriculture, with a focus on shrimp farming since 2002. They've developed and expanded their farms, providing engineering and logistic support services. Notably, they established a shrimp packaging plant that produces nearly 3,000 tons annually of shrimp (Head-on shell on, or HOSO), which is exported worldwide.
Additionally, JAZADCO owns a fruit farm primarily dedicated to mango cultivation, with a total production capacity of 2,000 tons. The agricultural business contributes significantly to their revenue, accounting for almost 48% of their total revenue. In 2008, JAZADCO set up a water bottling factory, adding to their manufacturing portfolio. The manufacturing business recorded SAR 28.03 million in sales revenue in 2019, representing 39% of their total revenue. In Real Estate, JAZADCO made strategic investments, including a residential complex in Jazan city. The real estate segment's sales reached SAR 9.66 million in 2019, constituting 13% of their total sales revenue. In 2019, JAZADCO experienced higher sales, reaching SAR 72 million, up from SAR 69 million the previous year. This growth was driven by improved performance in both the manufacturing and agricultural businesses. Revenue from these sectors rose by 6.5% and 24% year-on-year, respectively. JAZADCO acquired a 65% stake in Mango Jazan Company, aligning with their growth strategy. By leveraging advanced technology and marketing, they aim for rapid expansion. Their online application allows them to distribute local products across the region and explore new markets. JAZADCO's merger with three other companies resulted in the creation of the Advanced Aquaculture Company. This move is expected to positively impact the aquaculture industry in Saudi Arabia, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
