Advanced Petrochemical Company (previously known as 'Advanced Polypropylene') is a Saudi joint stock company, established in 2005, and started trading on the Saudi Stock Exchange in 2007. The company has established itself as one of the major players in the petrochemical industry across the Middle East and North African (MENA) region. It produces 455,000 tons of propylene and 450,000 tons of polypropylene annually, from its production facility located in Jubail Industrial city. Advanced is engaged primarily in the production of polypropylene (a crystal-like thermoplastic and a member of the polyolefin family); and petrochemicals, which are chemicals made from natural gas and petroleum, such as olefins (propylene, ethylene and butadiene), aromatics (toluene, benzene and xylenes), and methanol. In addition, the company also produces petrochemical intermediates, such as Vinyl acetate for paint, paper and textile coatings; Resin manufacture, Vinyl chloride for polyvinyl chloride (PVC); Ethylene glycol for polyester textile fibers, and Styrene, which is used in plastic and rubber manufacturing. The Company offers its products for a range of industries including packaging, health care, automotive, consumer product, and textile. Since its inception, the company has established itself as one of the reliable polypropylene suppliers in the global petrochemical market. The company markets its product locally, as well as globally, through reputed international off-takers.
