The Southern Region Cement Company is a Saudi joint stock company established by Royal Decree No. 3 dated 12/12 /1398H. The company is headquartered in Abha with a capital of SR 700,000,000 and a sole plant in Jazan. As a result of the expansion and establishment of factories in Bisha and Tahama, the company's capital increased to reach SR1,400,000,000. The number of shares is 140,000,000 shares, of which 58% are owned by the State, represented by the Public Investment Fund, the General Organization for Social Insurance and the Public Pension Corporation. The company is one of the largest cement companies in the Kingdom. It owns three factories in Jazan, Bisha and Tahama with a total production capacity of 32,000 tons of clinker per day. The company's production covers the needs of the southern regions and part of the western region. The company is keen to implement the overall quality in its work, and to have a presence in the field of excellence among the major industrial companies, where it received multiple awards in the areas of industrial safety and the ideal factory. The company has reached 53.14% Saudization rate among the employees of the company, and the company works on developing them and raising their competencies, where they are trained through the specialized training centers in the factories, in addition to joining the regular training courses inside and outside the Kingdom. Southern Region Cement has won the King Award for the Ideal Factory twice, the first in 1405 AH (1985 AD), and the second in 1414 AH (1994 AD). The company also won the first place for safety, in the Saudi House Competition for Consulting Services.
