Drake and Scull International PJSC (DSI) was established on November 16, 2008, and officially registered as a Public Joint Stock Company on January 21, 2009, under UAE Federal Law No. 8 of 1984 (as amended). It is listed on the Dubai Financial Market. DSI is a leading regional company known for delivering high-quality projects through comprehensive solutions in design, engineering, and construction across various sectors, including general contracting, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), water and power, rail, water and wastewater treatment, waste to energy, and oil and gas. The first Middle Eastern office of Drake & Scull was set up in Abu Dhabi in 1966, nearly 90 years after its original founding in the UK. Today, DSI operates globally with offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, and India, and manages projects in Europe and North Africa. The company has played a significant role in creating iconic landmarks in the region. DSI's main business divisions include Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) for MEP solutions, Drake & Scull Oil & Gas (DSOG) for onshore and offshore oil facilities, and Passavant Energy & Environment (PE&E) for water and wastewater treatment. Over five decades, DSI has grown into a multi-billion dollar organization with a strong track record of profitability. In 2008, DSI went public, offering 55% of its shares, and the IPO was oversubscribed 101 times, ranking among the top 20 global IPOs of the year by Ernst & Young. DSI continues to expand with new strategies, innovative business models, and high-quality standards. Its Integrated Management Systems are certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 4500:2018 standards, ensuring compliance with top building, health, safety, and environmental regulations. DSI has expanded in the MENA region with offices in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, and India. It has also created various divisions such as Drake & Scull Engineering, Drake & Scull Construction, Drake & Scull Rail & Infrastructure, Drake & Scull Oil and Gas, and Drake & Scull Development. Additionally, DSI has acquired companies like Passavant Energy and Environment, Gulf Technical Construction Company, and the International Centre for Contracting Company. Some of DSI's notable projects include the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC), Lamar Towers, Saraya Aqaba, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Kuwait State Audit Bureau, Dohaland, Louvre Museum, Braila Wastewater Treatment Plant, The River, World Crest Tower, Tahrir Petrochemicals Complex, Low-Density Ammonium Nitrate Plant in Egypt, and the Zubair Oil Field Development.
