Saudi Ground Services Co. (SGS) is a leading provider of ground handling services in Saudi Arabia. Established in 1954 as part of Saudia Airlines, it became an independent entity in 2008. SGS offers a wide range of services to both domestic and international airlines, including baggage handling, cargo and offloading, fleet cleaning, traffic control, ground transport, ramp services, and passenger services. Saudi Ground Services Co. has a rich history that began within Saudia Airlines. In 2008, it spun off to become an independent company, focusing on providing comprehensive ground handling services. The company merged with Al-Atter Handling and National Handling Service in 2010, further expanding its capabilities. Here are some key milestones in the company's history:
-2014: Converted to a closed joint-stock company with a share capital of SR 1.88 billion.
-2015: Floated 30% of its shares on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) on June 25.
-2020: Achieved a market capitalization of SR 6.8 billion.
The company secured a large variety of specialized equipment such as push-back, passenger step, medical lift, support equipment such as air-condition unit, air starter unit, headset, traffic control service, flight information and load control. SGS continues to innovate and expand its services. Recently, the company renewed its contract with Flynas to provide ground handling services for both domestic and international flights. Additionally, SGS has partnered with SAL Saudi Logistics Services to enhance its ground handling capabilities.
