Sharjah Cement & Industrial Development Co. (SCIDC) is a prominent company based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Established in 1977 under an Emiri Decree, SCIDC has grown to become a key player in the manufacturing and industrial sectors in the region. SCIDC is primarily engaged in the manufacture and supply of cement, paper sacks, and plastic ropes. SCIDC operates in two main business segments, manufacturing (this includes the production of cement, paper sacks, and plastic ropes), and Investment (the company invests its surplus funds in investment securities, private equities, and properties). The company operates from Sharjah and sells its products across the UAE and to several other countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. SCIDC's operations are supported by its own quarries in Sharjah, where it mines limestone and siltstone, essential raw materials for cement production. The company also has a dedicated facility for the production of multiwall, glued/pasted valve-type empty paper sacks. SCIDC is a public joint stock company, with its shares listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market. The company was also listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange until its voluntary withdrawal in 2021. Sharjah Cement & Industrial Development Co. has established itself as a significant industrial entity in the UAE, with a diverse product range and a strong market presence. Its commitment to quality and strategic investments has enabled it to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
