Activities

OQ Base Industries (SFZ) SAOG, also known as OQBI, is Oman's only integrated producer of methanol, ammonia, and LPG products. The company recently announced its intention to proceed with an initial public offering (IPO) and list its ordinary shares on the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX). This move aims to diversify the company's shareholder base, broaden its network, and provide liquidity for shareholders.

OQBI operates three advanced plants with a combined nameplate production capacity of 1,816 kilotons per annum (ktpa).

The company is located in the tax-exempt Salalah Free Zone, close to Oman's largest port, Port of Salalah, which acts as a gateway to markets across Europe, MENA, and wider Asia.

The IPO was set at the top end of the price range at Bzs 111 per share, reflecting strong demand from local, regional, and institutional investors. The company raised approximately OMR 188 million (equivalent to around USD 489 million).

OQBI is led by a dedicated team of experienced leaders who are committed to driving innovation and excellence in the production of methanol, ammonia, and LPG products. The company's vision is to be a leading integrated producer in the region, contributing to sustainable growth and value creation.
